Work was... eh. Lots of transferred calls, lots of grumpy people. I did manage to completely de-escalate someone though which was cool. She started the call with "I need a supervisor!!" After calming her down a little and getting her name and phone number so I could look at her account, I was able to resolve her issue and not have the call escalate. Go me!

Direct deposit has been posted to my checking account and I've scheduled one of my credit card payments. It's the one I'm paying in full with this check. :) Need to schedule the other payments and will probably do that tomorrow or later this weekend.

Putting in 10 hours of overtime tomorrow. Need to stop at the gas station and bank before work so I'll probably be leaving a little earlier than normal so I get there on time. Either that or I'll at least hit the gas station before work and then maybe the bank on lunch break or Saturday morning. Saturday morning I'm going to Salina for my baby sister's birthday party. I think I'll also do about 5 hours of OT on Sunday and then do another 5 next Friday and take all of Saturday off, so I can still meet my 10 hour / week overtime goal.

Well, if I am going to get up and go put in another 10 hour day, I'd better get to bed.

An update

So, let's see... I'm still alive. That's always a good thing.

Found out that yes, we will be moving to different teams at work, we just don't know who our new supervisors will be or where we are moving to yet. I guess we'll find out this week. It has been extremely busy at work too. No room for time off at all the rest of the month. In fact they were asking people to work overtime Friday and Saturday. I was going to work some Friday but due to circumstances that happened Thursday night, I didn't go in. I did do 4 hours Saturday. I haven't decided how my OT will work for this week. I have to be in Salina on Saturday for my baby sister's 9th birthday party. I will probably end up pulling a 10 hour day on Friday, and then start working 5 hours Fridays and Saturdays possibly more depending on how much energy I have at the end of each week. At least 10 hours of OT each week though, that's my goal.

Got another 100% quality score last week. That's #6 so far. I also found out that every 5th 100% you get $25 added to a debit card, so four more to go before I have another $25. It also means $20 cash so far this month from my current supervisor. He set a goal for each 100%, you'd get $10 cash. This month has cost him $70 so far and it's not over yet, heh. My sales have kinda sucked the last week or so, but I am still at $450 in comission so far this month. I just hope the next week or two go much better. Would be nice to have another $600+ commission month. Especially for a month that only has 28 days in it. I need to keep up the 100% quality scores too though because for March, April and May I need to be in the top 10% for Quality scores in order to earn the Specialist position in June. Hard to believe in just 4 more months I'll have been at Alltel for a year. What a long way I've come since January of 2006.

So yeah, as to why I didn't work OT on Friday... Thursday night, I managed to hit a 2 foot tall wooden post in our driveway and cracked my front bumper. After I looked at the damage on Friday, I decided to have it looked at for estimates... the damage is cosmetic only so I am holding off on fixing it awhile longer and will be putting money back out of each paycheck til I have the cash to replace the bumper.

I figured I would at least try to do some OT in the afternoon but that quickly got nixed right after my power supply died and I tried to get out of the driveway to go get a new one and couldn't because of the ice/snow still in the driveway and I couldn't get up the incline from the parking area to the actual driveway. So I parked and came back inside and waited til later in the evening and tried again... was able to get out of the driveway and off I went to the computer shop to get a new power supply.

I did manage to put in 4 hours of OT on Saturday. I probably should have done some today, but I was lazy and slept in til 9:30 (waking up from what I think was going to end up being a nightmare). Got up and did a load of dishes, took out the trash, got yesterday's mail. The only thing I got was my little sister's letter, where she was nice enough to send me her birthday list. She had 5 things listed, but had numbered the list from 1 to 13. At the bottom she wrote "Please dont get all of these things, just one." *laughs* Funny thing is, the gift I'm getting her isn't on the list at all, but I know she will still love it.

So hmm... other than work what have I been up to? Well, I spend a lot of my free time after work listening to podcasts of the Dave Ramsey show and hanging out on the my Total Money Makeover Online forums and chat room. I have managed to get a letter written to my little brother. Still owe Mom and Grandma a letter and my other grandma an email. I should probably also email my uncle and let him know I'm still alive too.

I've got two filters started... one for walking and one for my path to become debt free. If you want to be added to them, just let me know.
krzy: (Default)
So um yeah... I haven't posted in a few days... there goes my perfect posting record for this year, haha. Somehow, I knew it wouldn't last. Oh well, heh. I blame it partiallly on the new schedule.

Let's see... did overtime last sunday from 8am - 7pm, then worked mon - thurs 9am - 8pm. was very lazy yesterday and today... and didn't work at all. Tomorrow I am going in from 9am - 6pm for some more overtime, then Monday - Thurs 9am - 8pm, Friday 9am - 6pm and Saturday 9am - 1pm. I am only doing 4 hours on Saturday so I can get things done around the apartment that I won't have time for or want to do during the week (like cleaning!).

I've been in the lead queue 3 times so far and it's been ok. Only have had 2 escalated calls to take, the rest have been questions. It wasn't nearly as hard or scary as I thought it would be! I have a feeling I'd be very good at it on a full time basis.

Things at work might be a little uncertain on the team front at least... My supervisor managed to get himself promoted to a new position effective 2/26. While I'm happy that he got the new job, I'm very sad that I'm losing my favorite supervisor there. So yeah, I should know more later this week on how that is going to affect our team and who we might be "stuck" with. If I do end up on a new team, I might not be team captain which will suck since it was so short lived. I'm hoping nothing changes except the supervisor. We'll see.

The walking thing is going ok. I haven't been walking as much as I'd like and that's mostly my own fault. I have managed to log about 16 miles so far since January 22nd when work started their walking tracker thing. 9 more to go til the first milestone.

Need to find time this week to get letters written to my little brother, mom and grandma. Got letters from all of them last week. I also need to email my other grandma back.

Got paid yesterday, and after my car payment and insurance payment post from checking account, filling up the gas tank, paying the payment on one credit card and taking out $50 for groceries, I had enough left over to move another $350 over to savings bringing me to $800 out of my goal of $1000. Once I hit $1000, I am going to start paying off my debts smallest to largest, and the first to die will be the Orchard Bank Mastercard. This will be able to be done either once my federal refund hits the checking account, or next payday. I cannot wait!

I also need to swing by Wal-mart in the next couple of weeks and pick up my little sister's birthday present before I go to Salina for her birthday party on the 24th.

But for now, I'm going to head off to bed since I am going to be going in tomorrow for the overtime.

Lazy Day

Didn't really do much of anything today except play lots of Sims 2.

Did get to talk to my uncle today. He and Grandma are doing ok and finally had their electricity turned back on today. They had propane for heat for which I am glad. Other than a small hole in my uncle's roof it sounds like they got through the ice storm ok, although my uncle will have to replace a couple of his ham radio towers (hence the hole in hls roof). My dad went over and patched the hole as a temporary fix which was nice of him to do.

Managed to survive the boredom yesterday. Even got paid 2.5x my normal pay for working yesterday.

Well I need to head on to bed. Gotta work tomorrow.

Am home

Got home around 7ish tonight from Salina. Visit at mom's was good.

We went to Wal-Mart today, to get the rice cooker mom was going to get me as my birthday present. We walked in, got the cart, headed towards the home appliances. When we got to that aisle, we were searching and finally found the ONLY one they had... I decided I wanted to at least have 2-3 to compare and choose from so we headed over to Target. Target proved to be a lot more productive as I came out of the store with this rice cooker. I can't wait til payday so I can go grocery shopping and start using it! Though I have decided... I need to rearrange my kitchen a bit... the lack of counterspace is um... inconvenient at best.

I've also challenged Mom to hold each other accountable and start walking at least 3 times a week and start working our way back up to walking on a very regular basis like we started doing last year. The odd thing is, she and I weigh the same (we checked the scale this afternoon). So at least we're on the same starting point essentially weight wise. So tomorrow, I am going to start wearing my pedometer again. And I've started a walking filter. If you want to be in it, comment and let me know. I'd hate to subject anyone to that daily that doesn't wanna read it (hmm though it is *my* journal... haha).

I'm also going to be doing some research into some healthier recipes before going grocery shopping this weekend. At least I have the water intake thing going in my favor. I have a 64 oz mug at work that I fill up in the morning and drink it through out my workday. Then when I get home, I have a Brita water pitcher that I drink water from. Now I just have to motivate myself into eating better and even more motivation towards doing actual exercising and walking on a regular basis.

Talked to my Uncle Mike on yahoo messenger a bit this evening and then got to talk to him on the phone. It really made his day when I called him on Christmas and reopened the lines of communication. It's funny because I take after my Uncle a lot more than I do my dad.

Well, I guess I'd better start getting ready for bed. Gotta get up and go to work in the morning. Hopefully by the end of this week we will know how the shift bid went and what schedules/supervisors we got. It'd be really cool to get my old supervisor back.
krzy: (Default)
Well, I stayed home from work today. Woke up this morning and my left ear was bugging the crap out of me. I hate being so prone to ear infections... but at least it's much better tonight.

I'm at Mom's right now. She has a test for the correctional officer position she's applying for in the morning and I promised I'd be here in case my little sis ends up staying home from school again tomorrow. She hasn't been feeling too good.

Well, I'd better get my butt to bed... gotta get up earlyish tomorrow.

lazy day

Best intentions going astray and all that...

I had the intention of getting up and doing a few hours of overtime today, but laziness won out and I slept in til about 9:30 and didn't bother even checking availability for OT today. Tomorrow I am going to dinner with a friend of mine so I can't work late... but I should be able to get back on the OT train Monday, then going to Salina on Tuesday, and should be able to do some more OT wednesday - friday maybe even saturday... will have to see what is available this week.

So I changed around my shift preferences a little bit. I went with my old supervisor as my first choice (which means I'd be working 4 ten hour shifts and 3 days off). My current supervisor is a really nice person and easy to get along with but reliability isn't a strong suit. She really doesn't email our team to let us know if she's not going to be around for the day or if she's going home early or anything like that... and Friday she wasn't even there at all. Now, I know she wasn't feeling well on Wednesday, but it would have been decent if she'd have taken 2 minutes to email our team from home (we can access email from home) and tell us what was goin on. Not to mention our team really hasn't done anything to motivate or support each other or even do anything fun as a group together... so yeah, I'm going back (or going to try to) to my old supervisor's team. So um yeah, any good thoughts or whatever it is you do that could be sent my way in hopes I get the shift/supervisor I want would be muchly appreciated. I have a pretty decent chance though as i'm ranked 38/194.

I've also been listening to my mp3 folder most of today. Which also means I've essentially taken a long trip down memory lane today as a lot of the music in there has a lot of different memories tied to it, some good, some not so good. At least they weren't *terrible* :)

Hmm that reminds me... need to upload the pics that were taken over Christmas while I was at Mom's. Got some cute new pictures of my niece and nephew and little sister. Maybe I can get started on that tomorrow night after I get home from dinner.

Ugh... seems the neighbors have decided to start playing guitar and being noisy again... I hope it's just temporary and they cut it out soon... If I have to go up there in the middle of the night again I'm going to be pissed and the landlord will be getting another complaint call tomorrow.
krzy: (Default)
Didn't do a whole lot... slept in til 11am which was kinda nice (even with the x-men themed dream I had last night).

Was going to go out to dinner with my best friend tonight but due to a ton of homework she had due tomorrow, we've made plans for Sunday night instead.

Am going to be going to Salina on Tuesday. Mom is taking me shopping for a Rice cooker/Veggie Steamer as my birthday present. Yay for new kitchen toys! :)

Emailed my dad back tonight letting him know my address and phone numbers (both cell and landline).

Also did a couple of loads of dishes and made a smaller batch of the Almond Poppyseed bread I tried to make the other night. The first attempt the other night failed miserably. I will know in the morning if this batch turns out ok. I'm hoping so because it sure would make a great breakfast bread.

I still have not finished ranking my shift preferences. There's 126 shifts for us to rank! I do have the top 25 or so done. Am pondering just leaving it at that... I'm ranked 38/194 and there's enough shifts in the top 25 schedules that I'd definitely get one of my preferred shifts... I'll probably work on it some more between calls tomorrow though.

Checked my comission today... in just the 2 days I've worked this month, I'm already at $52. Hopefully I will see another $5-600 month by the 31st.

Well, I guess I'd better get to bed if I have any hope of waking up to the alarm in the morning.
krzy: (Default)
Work was ok. Managed to make it to 5:30 in relatively one piece. Also managed to sell a few features today which helped kinda offset all the whiners I had today as well as the people that kept interrupting me while I was trying to tell them exactly what they wanted me to tell them. I hate it when people do that. When you call to ask someone about your bill, or anything for that matter, LET THEM TELL YOU! Especially when the answer is to your benefit! At least I am off tomorrow.

Stopped by the store on my way home tonight and picked up some generic nyquil and some generic dayquil. The cold is mostly gone, so hopefully by taking it easy and getting to sleep in tomorrow I will finally be free of it soon.

Speaking of tomorrow... I turn 27 tomorrow. I'm glad I dont have to work on my birthday this year and even happier that I'm doing so while having a job to go back to on Friday! Last year I celebrated my birthday 2 days after getting fired from Lock\Line.

I heard from my Dad for the first time in a long while. He emailed me tonight to wish me a happy early birthday (and even managed to remember how old I will be). I also got an email from my grandma. I am planning on writing them both back tomorrow. It was kinda nice to have Dad make the first move at communication for once. I've been emailing and talking to my uncle on yahoo messenger since Christmas. I called both grandma and my uncle on christmas and found out they both had email. I also got my aunt's email and need to write her too. I haven't talked to her in years.

I also need to call Kansas Counselors Inc tomorrow. They call every day while I am at work and leave a message on the machine... for someone who doesn't even live here. So I am going to call them tomorrow and once again remind them that I am the only person who lives here. I do owe them money for old medical bills, and would understand if they were calling about that debt, but that's not even who they ask for when they leave messages on the answering machine. I figure I will reawaken that debt once I knock out the current debts I have.

Well, I think I am gonna post this and go to bed.
krzy: (Default)
So yeah... woke up this morning with a headache. Didn't sleep well at all last night which didn't help. And to top it off, I've been fighting a cold today also. Dayquil was my best friend at work today. As a result, I have 0 motivation and almost 0 attention span for much of anything tonight which kinda sucks.

Work was ok today. Managed to add a line, sell a bluetooth headset and add a few features. Not a bad day for my first day back from vacation. I also found out on the 27th I got a 100% Quality score! :)

We are also in the middle of the shift bid for February's shift changes. I am ranked 38/194!!! This shocked me considering how new I am. Right now I'm debating between putting the 4 10 hour shifts as my first choice with my old supervisor, or the 5 8 hour 12pm - 9pm shifts as my 1st choice with my current supervisor. The 4 10s would be kinda nice to have 3 days off but would also be more of a strain on my voice. Hmm... I have until the 8th to get my final preferences submitted though. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have more ability to focus on it. There's 126 different shifts to rank! Ugh.

I still haven't even started thinking about what I want to work on this year. I have *general ideas* formulated but I want them to be more specific and stuff I can measure (the dave ramsey fans will understand that one LOL) and work on and realistically obtain this year... so yeah it's gonna take a little longer for that I think. Still mulling it over in my head though which is a good thing.

I also need to write my little brother back at some point in the very near future. I did get to talk to him on the phone when I was at Mom's around Christmas which was cool. He's actually admitted to wanting to be like me! He told me in a letter awhile back that said he decided he had 2 choices... he could try to make me change the things *I* liked, or he could just admit that he was like me. haha

I think I am going to try to go to bed earlier tonight and hopefully sleep better.

Well, seeing how it's January 1st already and 2007 is already underway, I figure I should probably post my year in review or something.

January - Got fired from Lock\Line on January 2nd. Turned 26 on January 4th, and started what was going to be about 6 months of job hunting. Also applied for and won unemployment claim and that helped get me through the first few months. Also started walking regularly (every day) with Mom.

February - Was still getting the $239/wk from unemployment, apparantly never posted to LJ the entire month. Both of my little sisters had birthdays (one turned 8 the other turned 20). Still job hunting.

March - Got a letter that Lock\Line was going to be appealing the unemployment. Still job hunting. THe appeal hearing was deferred as a continuance had been filed by Lock\Line so the hearing ended up taking place on March 30th. I continued to receive unemployment pay in the meantime which helped keep me afloat. The appeal hearing took place and didn't go well at all, but I didn't find out the results until April.

April - Got notice of having the unemployment decision being reversed and that I'd have to start repaying it. Still unemployed, but at the end of the month had a phone interview with Alltel for my current job now.

May - Had in-person interview at Alltel. Felt pretty good about the interview when I got home. A few days later, got a job offer from Alltel *pending background check*. The same day I did the drug test, I also interviewed for another position in Manhattan, KS for a lower paying job and did a drug test for them as well and was offered that job immediately, I postponed that offer until I had more concrete news from Alltel's background check news. Spent a lot of time driving between Salina and Manhattan. Cashed in the profit sharing account from Lock\Line also. Was then offered the job at alltel on the 11th and started apartment hunting. Ended up taking over my best friend's sister's old apartment. Had a scare with U-Haul but it worked out and was well on my way to getting moved to Manhattan.

June - Moved to Manhattan, KS. Started my new job on the 5th of June. Met and had lunch with [ profile] mizdandylynn and [ profile] hubs. That was lots of fun! Got incredibly drunk (only once) at my best friend's house. Ran into my ex at Wal-Mart. Started having more of a social life while hanging out at my best friend's house.

July - Finished training at the new job and started working my new schedule of 10am - 7pm every day except tues/wed. Also had an eye exam and got new glasses. Towards the end of the month, I bought a new Kyocera Strobe phone and Bluetooth headset to use on my employee cell phone account.

August - Little brother turned 22. Nothing too exciting other than a great month comission wise at work and shift bid for new schedule effective in September.

September - Started my new 9am - 6pm schedule with Thursdays and Saturdays off. Replaced my Palm Tungsten E with a Palm T|X and gave the Tungsten E to Mom. Was also reminded again that mom *does* read my Livejournal (*laughs*). My nephew was born. Had Privacy Manager set up on my landline due to a harassing caller. Switched with the girl sitting across from me as she needed a 9-6 schedule and started working 8:30am - 5:30 pm with Tuesdays and Saturdays off. Got the new Weird Al CD for me and a copy for my baby sister.

October - Brought my 8 yr old sister to Manhattan for one weekend and went to see Open Season with her as well as a trip to Sunset Zoo the next day. Was supposed to go see Hamlet on campus at the theater but that didn't work out. Mom came up to Manhattan to see the new apartment. Entertained myself for an entire weekend at work making sure one lady's cell phone was still Non Pay Disconnect status until her $3000+ payment cleared and posted to her account.

November - Apparantly I didn't post at all again for November... But.. I got a new car! 2002 Dodge Stratus R\T. other rocking month for comission sales. :) I also started a written budget and worked on getting caught up on past due credit card payments and cut up all my credit cards. Working on digging my way out of debt.

December - First part of December was rather uneventful... work, come home, sleep, repeat. Did lots of Overtime the first part of the month to make up for being on vacation the last week. Ended up getting caught up on ALL my bills!!! :) Had vacation from the 22nd through the end of the year so I spent Christmas at Mom's and came home with a new bread machine. :) The Almond Poppy bread I tried to make last night didn't turn out so well. I think next time I am going to make the smaller batch and see how that does.

And that brings me to today I guess, *laughs*. I need to run by the Landlord's office and drop off rent check. Tomorrow it's back to work. I'm usually off on Tuesdays, but I swapped with someone who needed tomorrow off and in return I have Thursday off so I won't have to work on my Birthday this year. (I didn't have to work on my birthday last year either but that was entirely different circumstances haha). So yeah, work tomorrow and Wednesday, off Thursday, work Friday, off Saturday and then it's back to normal schedule. There should be a shift bid this month so schedule is going to change in February. Hoping to get one of the later shifts so I can get shift differential. We'll see how that goes and how many of those shifts are available.

I need to work on my 2007 goals still, and hopefully will have a chance to post them today or at least in the very very near future. For now though, I need to get dressed and go run a couple of errands.

Long day

Went to Salina to visit mom.

Had a long fun draining day, will post details tomorrow.

For now, it's bedtime as I gotta get up early and go to work tomorrow.

Going to bed early tonight. Hopefully I wont be as lazy tomorrow morning as I was today.

Took calls for the first part of the day, and then just listened to calls again after lunch. Thankfully today was the last day we have to listen to calls. The rest of training we get to take calls both before and after lunch. I know. It's weird that I am looking forward to talking to customers and helping them and not just wanting to get paid to sit and do nothing but listen.

Managed to get the dishes done tonight as soon as I got home from work. Yay me!!

Also called my little sister back, as she called me this morning and left me a voice mail. She's so cute. Her voice mail today was nearly identical to the one she left me about a week ago. Apparantly she lost a tooth today and was very excited about it.

Ok, I'm off to sleep now. Will try to post more tomorrow.

Um... oops!

So it looks like another trip to Wal-Mart will be in order... I was working on unpacking the boxes in the kitchen, and I got the pots and pans and the bakeware, but somehow my actual dishes, silverware and glasses are still at Mom's. It'd be cheaper to just go buy a small set of dishes until Mom either finds mine or I can afford to buy some more. Need to get groceries sometime soon anyways, and fill up my gas tank and then I'm probably going to be quite broke until my first paycheck. At least I also managed to pay a couple bills and the rest wont be due til after I get my first check or right around the time I do.

[ profile] chuck_lynn called me earlier. :) Tomorrow we are going to meet up to get something to drink and visit for a bit before they drive on towards Abilene to visit a couple of the museums and sites there. I am very much looking forward to getting to meet them. We have been talking about meeting up for a long time now.

Mom called shortly after that and I told her about the missing dishes. I should have told her if she finds them, set them aside and I can come back after I get paid or something and pick them up. Maybe I will next time I talk to her. Mom is really excited about getting my old room back as her bedroom. She's been talking about all the things she plans to do as far as painting and decorating and such. My little sister talked to me for a little bit too. She really misses me, and I am sure it is a big adjustment having her big sister there one day and not there anymore. I lived there for almost 3 years this past time. I plan to write her when I can so she knows I haven't forgotten her and I know she loves to get mail.

My little sister had her very first softball game last night. She is playing in the 12 and under league, apparantly there werent any 10 and under teams this year, and as most of the girls on my sister's team are more like 8-10, they lost last night since the other team was more towards the 12 year old end. I told my sister as long as she has fun, it doesn't matter if she loses or wins. That's something I learned way back in 5th/6th grade when I played softball.

I'm not nearly as sore today as I thought I would be after the move. This is a good thing, although I'm not sure how well doing dishes is going to do since part of me that is sore is my hands. Need to finish clearing off the dining table of boxes so I can stack the dishes on it that need washed and dig out the dish drainer, dish soap and sponge and start tackling what I do have so I can at least get them cleaned before I put them away.

I also need to either find my cord for my stereo or find my computer speakers so I can listen to music again since Cox says they can't hook up my cable until the 13th. At least I have DVDs I can watch until then. I just hope they at least wait til I am home from work that day and dont come between 5 and 5:30 since I've specifically told them I work that day and will not get home until 5:30.
krzy: (bedtime!)
Still a bit of packing to be done...

Fixed my aunt's computer this morning. Then I went out to eat with Mom, little sis, my aunt and uncle and my grandparents. Afterwards, I grabbed a box and headed across the alley to my grandparents house where grandma hooked me up with a few cleaning supplies, some tea towels, wash cloths and dish towels, paper towels and paper plates w/ holders, a bucket/trashcan, and a broom and vacuum cleaner. So that's a little less I will have to get from Wal-Mart next week after I have moved.

I think tomorrow will be another day of having the computer off most of the day, so that I can get some real progress made on the packing front.
krzy: (Default)
Managed to get a little more packing done. Still have yet to venture into the closet. I think I will see about doing that after I pack most of the clothes (at least the ones I wont be wearing in the next 6 days or so).

Since I didn't get the lease in yesterday's mail, I called the landlord to find out what was going on. It turns out he had been checking with the current tenant (my best friend's sister) to make sure things were still going well as far as her being out by the 31st and not needing extra time. Everything still is right on schedule so he mailed the lease on Tuesday and I should be seeing it today.

I should also be getting the check soon from cashing in the 8 shares of DST stock I had when I worked for Lock\Line. That should at least help me stay current on a few things til I get my first check.

I also got a phone call yesterday from my step-brother, so it seems that had been the right address after all. :) He is coming to Salina on Friday so I'll finally get to see him again after several years.

Wow, a week from today and I'll be typing from my new apartment. :)

I'm pretty sure my digital camera is ruined. Was in the process of cleaning off my desk and packing stuff I wanted to keep that was on the desk into a small box, when I turned around and saw my water had spilled onto the desk and all over the digital camera. One more thing to add to my list of things to get when I have money again, I guess. :(

My aunt called earlier this evening. Apparantly she is having computer problems and from what I was able to gather, it's turning on, posting, and then giving her the option to either retry boot or go into setup. Joy. She's wanting me to come look at it if I do end up going to Wichita this weekend with Mom.

Well, it's bedtime for me... carrying 3 old 486s out to the car and unloading them at the DAV plus the cleaning and other stuff I did today just zapped the energy from me today.

Supposed to get up to 95 today, and we're under yet another thunderstorm watch. Normal Kansas weather I guess, but trying to clean and pack while mom's a/c isn't working sucks. Esp with my room being the warmest in the house most days.

I was doing some searching last night and found out my step-brother has been released from Hutchinson Correctional Facility finally. I think I also found his current address and sent him a letter today. Yay for the internet. I just hope it's the right address. It has been far too long since I last wrote him or even heard from him. I've also written my little brother (half brother) and let him know of my new address as well. So hopefully he writes me back soon either here or after I have moved to my new apartment.

Speaking of the new apartment, need to get ahold of the landlord tomorrow. He said he would try to get the lease filled in and mailed to me so that I'd have it by Monday and it still hasn't shown up in the mail. I really want to get this taken care of since I will be moving in a week and 2 days.

Went and finally got the change of address stuff from the Post Office and picked up some 2 cent stamps since during my cleaning I found almost a full book of 37-cent stamps. I also have almost a full book of 39-cent stamps so it looks like I am set on postage for awhile, heh. I also got gas in the car I'm driving now and then went and picked up some boxes from a place mom used to work for. So now I just need to re-motivate myself and get them re-assembled and packed.

Started the day by calling SBC to have my DSL and phone line set up to be turned on in Manhattan on June 1st. So I should have internet as soon as I can hook up my computer when I get there, but will prolly not be on that day til later that night after everything is unloaded and the bed is at least set up and some things are unpacked.

Then I came in and took my matress off my bed, and moved my box springs to lean in front of the entertainment center and spent the day cleaning under the bed and then putting the bed back together. I think that's all the cleaning I am doing today. Tomorrow I shall be going through the 2 plastic bins under my table and starting to pack them once that is done. And eventually, I shall brave whatever is inside the closet!! I also need to start hauling away the computer bits I know I will never use (i.e. the 486s) and drop them off across the street at the DAV.

Heh, my great aunt just called Mom's cell phone... asked her how she was then asked if I was home because she wanted to talk to me. I am amused. So while I was talking to her I made sure she had my new phone number and my cell phone number so she could call me directly next time. :)

I need to get a few letters written and sent out so family and such will have my new address and phone number, as well as do the change of address form online with the post office. Maybe I'll start the letter writing tonight since it doesn't take a whole lot of energy.
